HOW IT HAPPENED

-Clark took an early lead with four runs in the bottom of the first inning. With two outs sophomore Andrew Thibault (Nashua, N.H.) found a hole up the middle with a two RBI single that scored Lefebvre and Kelley (4-0).

-The Cougars added another seven runs in bottom of the second. Bonicki recorded his first homerun of the season when he powered one over the fence for two RBIs when sophomore Ryan Ruhlin (Portland, Maine) crossed home in front of him. With the bases loaded Thibault tripled to deep center field to earn three RBIs as sophomore Nick Jordan (Seaford, N.Y.), Lefebvre, and Downing all came home. An RBI single from first year Chris Radovic (Fairfield, Conn.) scored Thibault for the 10-0 lead and in his second at bat of the inning Ruhlin picked up another hit when he doubled to right field to score Radovic (11-0).

-The Bears broke up Clark's run at a shutout with a run in the top of the third inning. Freshman Tom Ankers (Manassas, Va.) got on base with a single to center field and junior Jake Behne (Clifton, Va.) double to left field to send him home (11-1).

-The two teams did not score over the fourth and fifth innings, but Clark was able to add one in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single from Jordan to score Lefebvre.
