Chandler, Ariz. – For the fourth consecutive season, The Clark University field hockey program has been honored with the ZAG/Field Hockey NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award it was announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) earlier this week.
The National Academic Team Award honors those institutions that have achieved a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year.
Incredibly, Clark joined eight other New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) programs on this list, giving the conference all nine teams as honorees. Mount Holyoke and Springfield finished tied for the second with the highest team GPA (3.68) behind only Swarthmore (3.72).
Earlier this year, Olivia Cotton (Northampton, Mass.), Gaby Deangelis (Bayville, N.Y.), Haley Mahan (Bedford, N.H.) and Alyssa Williams (New Sharon, Maine) were all named to the New England Women's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference team.
