Men's Soccer Shuts Out Emerson In NEWMAC Opener

Worcester, Mass...The Clark University men's soccer team defeated Emerson 1-0 in the NEWMAC opener on Saturday afternoon at Granger Field. Prior to the game the program honored seniors Greg French (North Andover, Mass.), Connor Maguire (Dunstable, Mass.), Isaac Smith (Baton Rouge La. ) and Ethan Ziemba (Glen Gardner, N.J.).

Sophomore Sean Munroe continued his torrid start with his fifth coal in the 87th minute. The Cougars out shot the Lions 26-8. 

Senior Lucas Fischer (Atlanta, GA) made eight saves in the loss. Maguire recorded six saves to record the shutout and the win.

The Cougars improved to 2-2-2 and 1-0 in the NEWMAC. The Lions fell to 2-3-1 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

Emerson returns to action when then then host Newbury on September 18 at 6 p.m. The Cougars will host Bridgewater State on Wednesday, September 20 at 7 p.m.
