Cougars Stay In Seventh At NEWMAC Championships

Worcester, Mass. – The Clark University men's 200-yard medley relay podium finish highlighted the third day of competition at the 2017 NEWMAC Championships on Saturday, where they sit in seventh place.

The foursome of Dylan Schrama (Taunton, Mass.), Bill Holloman (Avon, Conn.), Julian Ortega (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and Eddie McCluskey (Hope, Maine) blazed their way to the fifth fastest time in school history (1:40.60). 

200-Yard Freestyle
Both Julian Ortega and McCluskey advanced to the "B" final, registering times of 1:48.11 and 1:49.98, respectively. 

100-Yard Breaststroke
Holloman and Johan Nel (Wayne, Maine) each took part in the "B" final, with Holloman posting a time of 1:00.33 and Nel close behind at 1:01.93. 

100-Yard Backstroke
Sebastian Ortega (West Palm Beach, Fla.) made his way into the "B" final and recorded a time of 1:01.81.

1-Meter Diving
Steven Castiglione (North Haven, Conn.) advanced to the finals, where he finished ninth in the 1-meter event with a score of 378.45. Marco Moneti (Bloomington, Minn.), meanwhile, just missed out on a trip to the finals with his score of 274.00 in the preliminaries.
