How It Happened In Game 1:
Phillips yielded just two hits and a walk in the five-inning shutout in the opener. Renee LeClaire was the only Engineer to deliver multiple hits as she went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, two RBI and a run.

Ama Biney and senior Hope Shevchuk each doubled and drove in two runs while Saucier doubled in a late pinch hitting appearance.

For the Cougars, Jocie Orangio (Maynard, Mass.) accounted for both of the Cougars hits to go with a walk by Sami West (Gonic, NH). Both Brenna Foley (Charlton, Mass.) and Maddie Letendre (Mansfield, Mass.) each spent time in the circle for the guests with Foley suffering the loss.

How It Happened In Game 2:
Clark logged the first hit of the second game with a one-out single by Sarah Woods (Littleton, Mass.) in the top of the second. WPI waited until the third inning for its first hit of the game and simultaneously took a 1-0 advantage behind a leadoff home run by Natalie Fabrizio.

It took until the top of the sixth for another hit to go on the board as Christina Kopacz (North Grosvenordale, Conn.) sent a leadoff single through the right side.

Lindsay Gurska answered for the Engineers in the home half with a first-pitch knock. Two batters later, Biney drove in freshman Leila Camplese and then Biney then came home thanks to a hit by LeClaire.

Saucier allowed two hits and walked three to go with seven strikeouts in 5 2/3 while Phillips fanned four in the balance of the game.

Woods pitched well for the Scarlet and White, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out a pair in the complete game performance.
