GAME 1: Clark University 3, Becker 2

Lauren Mackey (Dublin, N.H.) went 2-for-4 from the plate and pitcher Sami West (Gonic, N.H.) was outstanding on the mound going the distance allowing three hits and striking out 16 in nine innings.

Starting pitching was the story as West was locked up in a duel with Becker's Samatha Lee (Prospect, Conn.).  All of the scoring came in extra innings.  Becker scored a single run in the eighth inning on a defensive miscue by the Cougars.  Clark answered right back in their half of the inning as Taylor Erickson  (Natick, Mass.) delivered a sacrifice fly to extend the game. After Becker again posted a single run in the top of the ninth, it was up to the Cougar bats to rally for the win.  Sarah Woods (Littleton, Mass.) delivered a single to right on an 0-2 offering to score West and knot the game at 2-2.  After a Kayleigh McHugh (Pepperell, Mass.) sacrifice bunt moved pinch runner Kendra Walker (Cumberland, R.I.) to second. Leah Bodin (Andover, Vt.) stepped to the plate.  Bodin jumped on the first pitch singling up the middle scoring Walker and giving the Cougars the walk-off win.

Sami West (Gonic, N.H.) went the distance for Clark and improved her record to 3-6 on the season while striking out 16.

Game 2: Coast Guard 8, Clark University 9

The nightcap was a much more offensive affair, with the teams combining for 17 runs on 20 hits.  Clark posted the come from behind win on the strength of a seven run fifth inning, highlighted by a three run homer from Sarah Woods (Littleton, Mass.)  Woods three hits paced the Clark offense, and her 4.2 innings of relief earned her the win on the mound (3-3).

After jumping out to an early 2-0 lead, the Cougars saw Becker respond with two runs in the second, third and fourth innings and a single run in the fifth to take a 7-2 lead.

Becker's Samatha Belenchia (Ansonia, Conn.) settled down after the first inning and managed to keep the Cougars at bay until the fifth.  The home half of the fifth saw Clark rally for seven runs on 4 hits and 2 Becker errors, Lauren Mackey (Dublin, N.H.) chipped in an RBI double to finish the 2-4.  Taylor Erickson (Natick, Mass.) notched a pair of hits in game two.
