Babson Park, Mass. – For the first time this season and the ninth time in his career, Clark University All-American Ryan Garr (Kingston, R.I.) has been named New England Men’s and Women’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men’s swimmer of the week.
Garr was simply amazing at the 11th annual Worcester City Swimming and Diving Championships over the weekend. He pushed his career win total at the Championships to 17 following wins in the 100-yard backstroke (53.54), 200-yard backstroke (1:56.18) and 200-yard IM (2:00.54).
11 of those 17 titles are individual victories, while his relay wins moved to six over his four years after helping the cougars to wins in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:28.96) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:19.67).
He ended his career at the event undefeated in both the 100-yard and 200-yard backstrokes and with three Male Swimmer of the Meet Awards.
