Westwood, Mass.--Julianna Christy (Plainville Conn.) of the Clark University women's soccer team was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Defensive Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday morning.
Christy was critical in the Cougars 3-1 victory over Emerson during the week. The sophomore made four stops for a .800 save percentage in a win that gave Clark the No. 6 seed in the upcoming NEWMAC Women's Soccer Championship. Christy is 5-5-2 overall this season with 77 saves and a .856 save percentage heading into tournament play.
The No. 6 Cougars travel to No. 3 seed, Babson College on Tuesday, Oct. 31st for the NEWMAC Quarterfinals at 2:30 p.m.
