Women's Tennis Drops Close Battle with Lions

-The Lead: The Clark University women's tennis team dropped a match with the Lions of Emerson College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action on Saturday afternoon. Isabelle Long (Bellevue, Wash.), Anna Gates (North SCituate, R.I.) and Bichtroan Nguyen (Worcester, Mass.) all earned victories for Clark.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-Emerson swept doubles play to take a a 3-0 lead over the Cougars.

-Long got Clark scoring with 6-1 and 6-2 set victories over Alisha Parikh (Los Altos, Calif.) at No. 1 singles.

-Gates earned a win at No. 3 singles with two shut out sets over Rachel Scalera (6-0, 6-0).

-Nguyen tallied Clark's third win at No. 6 singles over Sarah Skeeles, but the Lions took the final 6-3 victory over the Cougars.

UP NEXT

-Clark hosts Springfield in conference action on Tuesday, April 24th at 4:00 p.m. on Senior Day.

-Emerson travels to Wellesley on the same day for a match at 4:40 p.m.
