Worcester, Mass. – Host Clark snapped a seven match losing streak with a convincing 3-1 win over Mount Holyoke in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) volleyball action on Tuesday evening.
The Cougars improve to 5-9 overall and 2-3 in league play with the win, while the Lyons slip to 7-5 and 1-4 in conference play.
Game scores were 25-13, 25-16, 18-25 and 25-10.
Clark was led by another standout performance from senior Amira Tranchell (Falmouth, Mass.), who finished with 15 kills and ten digs, while classmate Kortney Kelley (Barnstable, Mass.) registered 23 digs of her own.
Kelley, who went over the 1,000 dig mark for her career over the weekend, now has four matches this season where she has had 20 digs or more.
In addition to Tranchell and Kelley, Clark got an excellent contribution from the tandem of Parker Edmonds (Forth Worth, Texas) and Nicole Sullivan (Marshfield, Mass.) as that duo combined to rack up 20 kills.
The Cougars waste little time jumping back into action when they travel to Connecticut College for a showdown with the Camels on Wednesday.
Mount Holyoke, meanwhile, visits Wellesley on Saturday for a tri-match that also includes Smith.
