Westfield, Mass. - The Clark University men's cross country team placed 14th in the 15th Annual James Earley cross country invitational held at Stanley Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougar men totaled 379 points in the 26-team meet - team champion Vassar compiled 75 points by placing five runners in the top 23.
Clark's top runner was Martin Leggett (Easton, Pa.) finished in 68th place with a time of 28:32.
There was a large field of 288 runners in the annual invitational, with SUNY Delhi freshman Chris Burnett crossing the finish line first with a time of 25:40 on the 8K layout.
On the women's side, Clark finished in 14th place in the 31 team meet compiling 376 points. They were paced by Isabel Burgess (Cumberland Foreside, Maine), who turned in a 63rd place performance in a time of 20:51.
Both teams are back in action on Saturday when they take part in the Western New England College Invitational.
