Franklin, Mass. – Dean College Director of Athletics Todd Vasey announced today the hiring of Kevin Anderson as the Bulldogs' new Assistant Director of Athletics with an emphasis on Sports Information and Game Management.
Anderson joins Dean after spending the last eight years as the Sports Information Director at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. At Dean, Anderson will manage the strategic communications and marketing initiatives as well as home contest efforts while coordinating other administrative duties as a member of Vasey's senior staff.
"We are thrilled to have Kevin join the Bulldog family," said Vasey. "He brings a wealth of experience to the position and excels in developing relationships and creating messages that will undoubtedly resonate with anyone associated with Dean Athletics."
At Clark, Anderson led the communication and game management efforts for the NCAA Division III program. While there he launched online streaming for home contests, introduced social media and promoted several student-athletes who won local, regional and national awards.
He coordinated a trio of website redesigns with Clark (2010, 2013, and 2017), wrote numerous engaging pieces in the alumni magazine and worked closely with several other on campus offices.
Anderson was able to put three Clark student-athletes in Sports Illustrated's famed Faces in the Crowd section, while three other clips from Clark Athletics made their way on to ESPN's SportsCenter. Other stories he has pitched have appeared in the Boston Globe, Worcester Telegram, NCAA Champion Magazine and on local television.
In addition to his work in athletic communications, Anderson oversaw student employment for contest management and was instrumental in the enhancements in the department's annual awards show, "A Night of Honors".
A 2001 graduate of Framingham State University with a degree in communications, Anderson is also an adjunct professor at Becker College.
"I'm excited for the opportunity to tell the story of Dean Athletics as the College makes this historic move," said Anderson. "The College's vision for athletics really spoke to me and I am eager to get started."
Anderson will assume his duties beginning on September 1.
