Westwood, Mass.—Clark University senior pitcher, Cal Slepkow (Rehoboth, Mass.) was named to the 2019 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Baseball All-Conference First Team as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
The 2019 Baseball All-Conference Team consists of 10 first and second team honorees which are voted on by the eight baseball coaches.
As a senior captain, Slepkow finished the 2019 season with a conference leading eight wins, including five conference victories over WPI, MIT, Springfield, and Coast Guard (2). He ranked third in the NEWMAC at the conclusion of the regular season in strikeouts with 59 and sits at third in the league in earned runs average at 1.80.
Slepkow was named the NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week in the final week of the regular season and earned himself the Clark baseball career wins (24) and single season wins (8) records this year.
This is Slepkow's second time earning NEWMAC Baseball All-Conference honors as he was named the NEWMAC Baseball Pitcher of the Year, earning himself a spot on the All-Conference First Team, as a sophomore.
Eight baseball student-athletes are also being recognized to the All-Sportsmanship Team. The award is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team, in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of his/her overall performance or statistics for the season. From Clark, sophomore Chris Radovic (Fairfield, Conn.) was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
