GILBERT, AZ - This year, 1,746 student-athletes from 148 Division III institutions earned recognition on the 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. The Clark University Field Hockey team placed nine individuals on the squad: senior Olivia Barksdale (Fort Washington, Md.), junior Mikayla Pantano (East Bridgewater, Mass.), sophomores Sophia Poulin (Londonderry, N.H.) and Anna Joyce (Hopkinton, Mass.), and freshmen Emma Boland (Redding, Conn.), Sydney Lamothe (Newfoundland, N.J.), Hailey Parsons (Naples, Maine), Erin Hynes (Uxbridge, Mass.), and Grace Sawyer (Windham, Maine). This was Barksdale, Pantano, Poulin, and Joyce's second year receiving this recognition.
The Division III National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year.
The Field Hockey team was also awarded the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award for posting a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the Fall Semester of the 2018-19 academic year.
