Worcester, MA. – Clark's field hockey team snapped its losing skid in dramatic fashion, with a 3-2 overtime victory against the Western New England Golden Bears at Golden Bear Stadium.
- Just seconds into the first quarter, Clark's Chase Collier (Lisbon, Maine) found the back of the net to take a very early lead.
-Later in the quarter, Western New England got on the board off a scoring play from Haley Daigneault to tie up the contest at 8:49. The score remained 1-1 heading into the second.
-Collier waited only 30 seconds into the second quarter to grab the lead again for the Cougars, making the score 2-1 at the 15:30 mark. The score remained 2-1 heading into the half.
-The Golden Bears came out of the half on fire, scoring the tying goal less than two minutes into the third.
-The Cougars utilized several reserves to help maintain the 2-2 score, and force the overtime period.
-The Cougars and the Golden Bears traded shots and penalty corners throughout overtime, before first year Kerry Lefebvre (Freeport, Maine) found the back of the net for her third collegiate goal, and sealed the victory for Clark.
