Kansas City, Mo. – Clark University men's soccer star Zack Blais (Tiverton, R.I.) continued his postseason haul of awards after being named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-New England Second-Team on Friday afternoon.
A second-team all-conference pick in 2015, Blais earned first-team all-conference honors in 2016 when he finished with a career-best 15 points (six goals, three assists).
In addition to his all-conference and all-region honors, Blais was selected to participate in the NEISL All-Star Game last Sunday.
He opened the season with a pair of goals in a 2-0 win over Rhode Island College and kept on going. He had assists in wins over Mount Ida and Colby-Sawyer before converting a penalty kick in the 2-1 double-overtime win at WPI.
Blais found the back of the net in a narrow 3-2 loss to Springfield College in early October, then had another assist in a shutout win over Rivier. More goals came as he notched another against Framingham State in a 3-1 win and then converted another penalty kick in the conference semifinal loss to Springfield College.
Overall he appeared in 67 contests, making 45 starts on his way to 40 career points (15 goals, ten assists).
