Men's Soccer Edged by WPI in Season Finale

 -The Lead: The Clark University men's soccer team suffered a loss to the Engineers of WPI in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) matchup on the Saturday morning in their season finale.


-The Cougars got off to a quick start offensively about a minute in to the game when senior Julian Feshbach- Meriney (Concord, Mass.) put a shot on net that was saved by WPI sophomore goalie Rufus Adams (Duxbury, Mass). Just two minutes later Clark senior Jack Stark (Abington, Mass.) was able to put another shot on goal, sending it just high of the cross bar.

-In the 13th minute, junior Jonathan Guilherme (Oxford, Conn.) placed  a corner kick in the box, which found fellow junior Sean Munroe (Silver Spring, Md.) who was able to get a head on it, but his shot was saved by Adams.

-WPI found their offense in the 18th minute when freshman Mike Biando (Atlanta, GA) was able to put a shot on net, which was saved by Clark's sophomore keeper Melvin Vincent (Rochester, Mass.).

-Two minutes into the second half, WPI was able to get the offense rolling again when junior Jackson Conroy (Reading, Mass.) put another shot on net which was stopped by Clark's Vincent.

-In the 51st minute, the lone goal of the game was scored by WPI'S Conroy when he was able to corral a bouncing ball and blast it into the right side of the net for the score.


 -WPI edged Clark in shots 24-8 (10-3 on goal).

-The Engineers were awarded seven corner kicks, while the Cougars were awarded just two.

-WPI's Adams made 3 saves on the day, improving to 12-2-3 on the year.

-Clark's Vincent made 10 stops on the day and fell to 6-4-1 on the year.
