HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Cougars got ahead early, needing only seven minutes to put pressure on the Hawks. Senior Trevor Sheridan (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) took a throw in that landed in a scramble in front of the net. In the scramble, the ball got past the Hawks starting goalie and resulted in the first goal for the Cougars. Sheridan's assist will be his third of the season.
-The second Cougars goal came at the 19th minute when junior Sam Hartley (Sherborn, Mass.) assisted freshman Ezekiel Palmer (Vergennes, Vt.) as he was able to slide one past the Hawks goalie into the bottom left corner of the net. This was Palmer's first goal of the season and Hartley's first assist of the season.
-Late into the first half the Cougars put up one more when Palmer passed through the middle to senior Sean Munroe (Silver Spring, Md.) who was able to dribble past his defender and hit the left side of the net. This was the third goal on the season for Munroe and the third point of the match, and season, for Palmer.
