Men's Swimming and Diving Falls to Bears

Worcester, Mass.--The Clark University men's swimming and diving team fell to the visiting Bears of Bridgewater State University on Saturday afternoon at the Kneller Center Pool (176-115).

Freshman Eric Cobert (Newton, Mass.) finished second in the 1000 yard freestyle (11:00.30) in the fourth event of the day before his classmate Konstatin Drallios (Queens, N.Y.) earned the Cougars a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle (1:56.59).

Junior Bill Holloman (Avon, Conn.) finished second in the 100 yard breaststroke for the Cougars in a time of 1:04.73 and junior Julian Ortega (West Palm BEach, Fla.) touched the wall fist in the 200 yard Butterfly (2:11.78). Junior Dylan Schrama (Tauton, Mass.) took second place in the 50 yard freestlyle with a season best time of 23.53.

Senior captain Steven Castiglione (North Haven, Conn.) took second place in the 1 meter diving event (195.20) for Clark.

Ortega earned two more first place finishes for the Cougars in the 100 yard freestyle (51.10) and 100 yard butterfly (55.89).


There were many bright spots throughout the meet. The guys fought hard, they never quit, and they competed with passion.  That approach will serve them well going forward.
