Clark Comes Out Triumphant Against Trine

Altamonte Springs, Fla. - The Clark Cougars move to 5-7 on the season following their victory over the Trine University Thunder this afternoon. With an overall score of 5 to 4, taking four out of the six singles matches ultimately helped Clark claim victory. Trine falls to 5-3 on the year. 


-Max Schweitzer (West Hartford, CT) won the No. 1 singles match for Clark in straight sets by a score of 6-1, 7-5.

-In No. 2 singles, Christian Ruebens (Chesire, CT) was battled to three sets by Jacob Weiss. The second-year Cougar won 3-6, 6-4, 10-3.

-Trine picked up the win at No. 3 singles via Jaxon Davis's efforts. Jack Han (Bakersfield, CA) was defeated 3-6, 1-6.

-Andrey Samodaev (Boca Raton, FL) won his match-up against Isaac Everitt 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 4 spot.

-Captain Ian Levy (Needham, MA) was victorious in the No. 5 match. He defeated Jordan Baker 6-4, 6-4.

-Josh Podolsky (Sudbury, MA) could not come out with the win for Clark in the No. 6 singles match-up losing 1-6, 4-6. 


-Ruebens and his partner Nicholas Mathieu (Topsham, ME) won the No. 1 doubles match 8-2. They took down Trine duo Blake Trusty and Evan Trusty.

-Trine took the No. 2 doubles match 8 to 7. Falling in that contest was Han and Schweitzer for Clark.

-Clark duo Nathan Kapiloff and Duncan Drapeau (Boothbay, ME) were defeated by Everitt and Davis for Trine. The No. 3 doubles final was 8-1.

Up Next:

-Clark returns home to the Northeast soon and resumes play later in March. Regis College comes to Worcester on Wednesday, March 20th for a 3:30PM start time.

-Trine continues their Florida trip and has a matchup tomorrow, March 6th. They face Otterbein University at 8:00AM.
