Worcester, Mass.--Clark University Women's rowing had a strong showing in the varsity eight event on Saturday at the Head of the Snake Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond. The two varsity eight line ups consisted of: Freya Pollock, Katie Meehan, Ella Scott, Emily Ladda, Jessica Martinez, Olivia Young, Jacqueline Pawlak, Niki Lew, and Cailyn Keely in the first V8 entry; Wenlan Lawrence, Grace Schiaffo, Holly Bauer, Mackenzie Satalino, Hannah Honig, Zoe Brammer, Lila Sorenson, Lia Scala, and Kayla Rich made up the 2nd V8 entry.
The varsity eight finished with a time of 16:06.1, behind event winner WPI who posted a time of 14:38.4 The Cougar's time was good enough for 8th place, ahead of New England University, Connecticut College, Middlebury, Johnson and Wales, and Assumption. Clark's 2nd V8 finished with a time of 18:20.1 "Both crews took a huge step forwards in terms of their competitiveness over the past two weeks and I am looking forward to the challenge of finding more boat speed over the last few weeks of the fall season" said Head Coach Michael McDonald
Also Competing in the event was a Clark University "Alumni" crew racing in the "Open Masters 8+" event. The group of returning women took first place with a time of 17:47.1 "It was a blast to see women after a few years get back in the boat like they have not missed a day of practice and cruise down the course. They really made the day special." said Head Coach Michael McDonald
