Maitland, FL. - On Saturday, the women's rowing team finished their Spring Break trip by competing in the Rollins Invitational against Rollins, Assumption, Stetson, Villanova, and Duquesne on Lake Maitland, in Maitland, FL. Clark competed in three races, and was the only Division III school represented in the race.
The Varsity 8 placed second in the Varsity 8 race. They were edged out just slightly by Division II Rollins University. Clark finished with a time of 7:02.8, while Rollins took the gold with 7:02.9. In the boat for Clark were Sophie Spiliotopoulos (Arlington, Va), Stroke: Halley Glier (Shelburne, Mass), 7: Emily Ladda (Farmington, Conn), 6: Ella Scott (Hope, Maine), 5: Grace Schiaffo (Florence, Mass), 4:Olivia Young (Crandford, N.J.) , 3: Jessica Martinez (Amherst, Mass), 2: Emily Thibault Williamsville, Vt), bow: Cate Brown (Waban, Mass)
The 2nd Varsity 8 competed in the 2nd Varsity 8 race and placed third. They finished with a time of 7:25.3 finishing above Division I Stetson and Division II Rollins. In the boat for Clark were Kalea Barger (Lakeside, Conn.), Stroke: Hannah Honig (Stowe, Mass), 7: Paige Taylor (Great Barrington, Mass), 6: Shannon Reault, 5: Madison Hincher (Gorham, Maine), 4: Cora Flynn (Chelmsford, Mass), 3: Juliette Gale (Bedford, Mass), 2: Sydney Macedo (Kennebunk, Maine), Bow: Kayla Rich (Billerica, Mass).
Competing the Frosh/Novice 8 race were Coxn: Kayla Rich, Stroke: Cate Brown, 7:Sydney Macedo, 6:Madison Hincher, 5: Cora Flynn, 4: Shannon Reault (Tyngsboro, Mass) 3: Elena Sissell 2: Frankie Hurley (Seattle, Wash.) Bow: Kalea Barger. They finished fourth, with a final time of 8:09.4
Clark will return to the water on April 6th at Lake Quinsigamond.
