How It Happened In Game 1:
Things were scoreless after three innings as both starting pitchers – Julia Warner (Kenmore, Wash.) for Wellesley and Taylor Erickson (Natick, Mass.) for the Cougars – were cruising along.

That all changed in the fourth when the Blue scored nine runs on seven hits to blow the game wide open. Autumn Brown (Marshfield, Mass.) came up with a two-run single to center and Ashtyn Coleman (Scottsdale, Ariz.) blasted a grand slam to highlight the outburst.

Clark did get a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning when Lauren Mackey (Dublin, N.H.) doubled and then came home on a Sami West (Gonic, N.H.) double. West then touched home when Kaitlyn DeBlois (Turner, Maine) singled through the right side, making the score, 9-2.

Wellesley tacked on another run in the fifth Brown crushed a homerun of her own to lead off the inning and Warner then retired Clark in order to seal the run-rule victory.

Inside The Boxscore Game 1:
Coleman was the star of the opener, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a double and a grand slam, while Brown was nearly as impressive, finishing up with a 2-for-3, three RBI effort.

Warner, meanwhile fanned six and walked just one to pick up her fourth win of the season.

How It Happened In Game 2:
Brown wasted little time getting the Blue on the board as her RBI single in the first was part of the early 5-0 Wellesley lead after four.

Clark finally got on the board in the fifth as Mackey drove in two with a single and DeBlois added another on a double to left.

Now ahead just 5-4, the Wellesley bats tacked on two insurance runs in the sixth when Amanda Manning (Chico, Calif.) crushed a leadoff triple and scored when Kendra Coleman (Scottsdale, Ariz.) followed with a double. Anna Pisac (Snohomish, Wash.) delivered the final run with her double, giving the Blue the 7-4 lead and eventual victory.

Inside The Boxscore Game 2:
Kendra Coleman went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI in the nightcap, while Brown, Manning and Pisac all had two hits for Wellesley.

Jocie Orangio (Maynard, Mass.) and Mackey each had two hits for the Scarlet and White.
