Denisha Parks enters her first season as the full-time assistant coach in 2017-18.

With the Cougars, Parks will assist in all facets of the program, including recruiting, practice preparation and student-athlete development as well as additional administrative responsibilities in the department.

Park comes to Clark after a decorated collegiate career where she shattered countless school records at Elms College.

Since graduation, Parks has immersed herself in coaching. In March 2016 she founded the Southcoast Heat AAU program and prior to that she spent a little more than a season as an assistant coach at Newbury College. With the Nighthawks, she worked primarily with the post players as they advanced to play in the program’s first-ever conference championship game.

She has also served as the head freshman coach at her alma mater, BMC Durfee, guiding them to their best record in the last four seasons.

Parks made a name for herself during her playing days as an undergraduate where she took New England by storm, leading the Blazers to three straight NECC Championship games, including the program’s first-ever berth in the NCAA Tournament in 2011-12.

Along the way, she was named NECC, ECAC and NEWBA Rookie of the Year (2011-12), NECC First-Team All-Conference four times (2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015) and NECC Player of the Year twice (2014, 2015).

Parks owns more than ten school records, including most points in a career (2,248), most career rebounds (1,271) and most career steals (206). She played in 110 career contests and averaged 20.4 points 11.5 rebounds while shooting 79 percent from the free throw line.

She is a 2015 graduate of Elms with a bachelor’s degree in sports management.
