HOW IT HAPPENED
-Just over two minutes into the first half the Cougars got on the board. Sophomore Inonge Kaloustian (Bowie, Md.) broke away from the Lyon's defense up the middle and dished the ball to her classmate Deanna D'Innocenzo (Medway, Mass.) on the left side of the box; D'Innocenzo ripped a shot into the left corner for the 1-0 lead.
-With 20 minutes to play in the first half the hosts struck again. D'Innocenzo carried the ball to the top left of the box and found junior Megan Marocco (Swampscott, Mass.) inside who dodged a defender and finished to the right side for the 2-0 advatange.
-Mount Holyoke saw their closest bid for a goal with 24 minutes on the clock in the second half. MineraVeesar-Bobea (Arlington, Mass.) broke away with the ball and snuck by Clark freshman goalkeeper, Morgan Small (Quakertown, Penn.) who came charging out of the net, but her shot went wide right as the Cougars held onto the shutout.
