THE BASICS

- The Lead: The Cougars netted nine goals in their home opener against Framingham State. Senior midfielder Bailey Glenn (Middleboro, Mass) netted two goals late in the first half to solidify the Cougars lead entering half time. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Cougars struck fast scoring their first three goals in two minutes. 16 minutes into the first half, junior Taylor Barbieri (Glastonbury, Conn.) took a corner kick that found to foot of junior Sarah Berube (Wilmington, Mass) who connected with junior Danielle Black (Middleboro, Mass.) for the finish The second goal came less than one minute later off the foot of senior Maya Mashkuri (Montpelier, Vt) assisted by sophomore Mia Advocate (Merrick, NY). The third goal, again less than a minute later, was tipped in by junior Taylor Barbieri (Glastonbury, Conn.) on a cross from sophomore Caroline Wang (Rockville, Md).

- The Cougars would score again in the 30th minute off a free kick at the top of the the box delivered by freshman Emma Tziachris (Cumberland, RI).

- Eight minutes later freshman Lila McNamee (Cheshire, Conn.) would net the fifth goal for the Cougars.

- The last two goals of the first half came from senior Bailey Glenn (Middleboro, Mass.) with the first  assisted by Lila McNamee (Cheshire, Conn.) and the second  unassisted.

- The Cougars would go on to score two more goals in the second half with unassisted goals coming from freshman Jamie Stern (Highland Park, Ill.) and sophomore Rayna Medeiros (Bristol, RI).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

-The Cougars outshot the Rams by a margin of 32-0 including a 21-0 advantage in the first half. Clark also held a 4-0 edge in corner kick attempts.

Junior Morgan Small (Quakertown, PA) played all 90 minutes in net and recorded her first shutout of the season. Framingham State's Madison Brown would also play all 90 minutes and recorded eight saves.

-The Cougars are back in action on Sunday, September 1st at home versus Becker at 12 PM and Framingham State will host Regis (Mass.) on Wednesday, September 4th at 4 PM.
