Bristol, R.I.—The Clark University women's swimming and diving team finished 5th out of seven teams competing in the CCC invitational at Roger Williams University on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks came in first place with 254 points as they defeated Regis, UMass Dartmouth, Clark, University of New England, Western New England, and Gordon.
The Hawks finished first in every single event that they competed in. Gabrielle Pielka (Mahwah, N.J.) won in five different events including the 200-Yard IM (2:19.77), the 500-Yard Freestyle (5:34.32), the 100-Yard Backstroke (1:03.63), and was a member of the victorious 200-Yard Medley Relay as well as the 400-Yard Freestyle Relay that came in 1:57.48 and 3:5.25 respectively.
Junior Emma Bulman (Bridgewater, Mass.) and seniors Mira Siewart (Westbrook, Conn.), Quinn Mitchell (West Hartford, Conn.), and Amelia Muratori (Southbury, Conn.) finished third in the 200-yard medley relay with a 2:02.16 finish. Siewart finished 15th/24 in the 200 yard IM while sophomore Olivia Winters (Maplewood, N.J.) finished behind her to take 20th place.
Mitchell finished second in the 100-yard butterfly touching in 1:04.42, just behind the 1:04.12 first place finish from RWU's Megan Peters. Bulman finished 13th in a time of 1:10.54.
Muratori finished first for Clark in the 100-yard freestyle with a 58.72 time
Siewart also led the way for Clark in the 500 yard freestyle and the 100 yard breaststroke with times of 6:07.31 and 1:16.21 respectively.
Clark is back in action in the Worcester City Championship at WPI on Friday, October 26th (6:00 p.m.) and Saturday, October 27th (10:00 a.m.).
