Westwood, Mass. –The Clark University men's and women's swimming and diving teams placed a combined four student-athletes on the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) 2019 Swimming and Diving Academic All-Conference Teams. The NEWMAC women's swimming and diving student-athletes totaled 99 honorees this year while the men totaled 40 honorees.
Junior diver Rowan Moody (Ellington, Conn.) represented the Clark men's swimming and diving team while seniors Jacie Carson (Eugene, Ore.) and Mira Siewert (Westbrook, Conn.) along with sophomore Allison Dubick (Cornwall, N.Y.) were honored on the women's side.
Dubick and Siewert were part of the 200 Medley Relay group that set a new Clark school record this year in a time of 1:50.47. Siewert set the new school record in both the 50-yard breaststroke (31.71) and the 100 yard breaststroke (1:09.06). Dubick now sits at 9th in the record book for the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.21.
Moody broke the 1-meter diving (6) record this year with a score of 288.90. He holds the sixth spot overall in the 1-meter Diving (11) with a score of 361.20 and ranks second overall for the 3-meter dive (6) with a score of 244.19.
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2018 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference consists of 11 highly selective institutions committed to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Emerson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
