Clark's Women's Tennis team was defeated today, 9-0, in their last match of the season. Springfield College came away with the victory, moving them to 11-5 on the year. With the loss, Clark ends the season with a 2-14 record.
Doubles:
-Anna Gates (North Scituate, RI) and Elizabeth Tchantouridze (Northfield, VT) played in the No. 1 match for the Cougars. Their match was a close one that ended in Springfield's favor, 8-4.
-Chloe Dunnell (Montclair, NJ) and her partner Maggie Tarbox (Lebanon, CT) fell in the No. 2 match, 8-3.
-In the No. 3 match-up, Kathryn Benson (Hudson, MA) and her teammate Kaylyn Landahl (Brookfield, IL) lost their final matches by a score of 8-2.
Singles:
-Jillian Skulsky (Marshfield, MA) competed in the No. 1 singles match and was defeated in straight sets.
-Clark's Gates lost in two sets, 6-4 and 6-0. Springfield's No. 2 claimed that win for the Pride.
-Falling in two sets was Elizabeth Garfield (Cape Elizabeth, ME) in the No. 3 match.
-Tchantouridze was bested in two sets by her No. 4 counterpart.
-Captain Maggie Tarbox was defeated in two sets in her final match. She lost the first set 6-2 and the second 6-3 in that No. 5 matchup.
-Lily Meadows (Bradenton, FL) played hard in the No. 6 match but fell short, 6-3 and 6-4.
