-The Lead: Clark's final two matches at the Trinity Invitational saw the Cougars go 1-1 against their opponents. In the morning match, Clark defeated a good Eastern Connecticut team by way of 3-2. In the second match for the Cougars, Trinity came out on top 3-0. Clark ends up going 2-1 at the 2019 Trinity Invitational and now stands at 3-5 on the year.
-After winning the first set in a close 28-26 battle, Clark was bested by two points in the second set. Neither team won two consecutive sets, as Clark claimed sets three and five en route to their third victory of the season. In Clark's match against ECSU, Cameron Gill (Shrewsbury, MA) racked up 13 kills and teammate Margarita Perez-Maza (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) also came away with 11 kills of her own. Sophia Torino (Los Angeles, CA) had a stellar performance with 42 assists in the match, which was a match high. Marimo Oka (Fukuoka, Japan) finished with a match high 51 digs, as Torino, Perez-Maza, and Bailey Vogel (Salt Lake City, UT) all racked up double digits digs for Clark too.
-Trinity won the noon matchup with Clark, claiming victory in three straight sets. In the first set, Clark put the pressure on Trinity, but ended up losing 25-23. In both sets two and three, the final score was 25-15 in favor of Trinity. For Clark, Gill again was the team leader in kills. Paige Kacherian (Rowley, MA) had five kills on the match as well. Torino once again paced Clark in the assists category, having 24 against the Bantams. Oka's 12 digs for Clark led the way, followed by Torino, Vogel, and Delaney Funk (Bourne, MA) all contributing digs too.
-The Cougars travel to UMass-Dartmouth on this coming Tuesday, September 10th. That match is scheduled for a 6:00PM start time.
