WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University baseball team (13-1) closed out a five-game homestand with a 5-4 victory over Lesley (6-3) on Wednesday afternoon from Granger Field.

How it Happened

• The Lynx scored two runs in the top of the first before sophomore Dom Mariani and junior Carter Doran each recorded RBI's as the team tied the game at 2-2.
• After Lesley took a lead in the top of the second and added another run in the top of the third to go up 4-2 before the Cougars tied the game at 4-4 as junior Ryan Bonja belted a two-run homer to left field that plated sophomore Brayden Hollinrake.
• Graduate student Jose Mencia tossed a scoreless fourth and fifth inning and in the top of the sixth, senior Cory Giannelli came in and pitched allowed no runs as the game remained tied at 4-4.
• Junior Tyler Jones broke the tie with a homer to left field that gave the Cougars a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the sixth.
• Graduate student Benjamin Spencer entered the game in the top of the seventh and tossed three scoreless innings to earn his third save of the year as Clark won 5-4.

• Bonja led the way with a pair of hits, including a two-run homer.
• Mariani also recorded two hits, drove in a run, and scored one.
• Jones belted his first homer of the season.
• Mencia and Spencer each registered 3.0 scoreless innings.

Clark will return to the field tomorrow afternoon with a road game at RIC beginning at 3:30 p.m.
