Rowing Completes 2024 Season at National Invitational Rowing Championship

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University rowing team finished their 2024 season at the National Invitational Rowing Championships on Sunday morning from Lake Quinsigamond and saw both the V8 and 2V8 reach the finals.

How it Happened

The Cougars V8 of Apple Gould-Schultz, Margaret Mathews, Charlotte Leavitt, Danielle Chace, Anna Tinklenberg, Emma McLellan, Katie Woods, Robbie Southall, and Gwyn Sonneveldt finished fifth in their heat with a time of 7:27.435, which topped St. Lawrence and Colby College and later placed second in the final with an improved mark of 7:19.876, which defeated Skidmore, Rochester, Mount Holyoke, St. Lawrence, and Colby College.
Clark's 2V8 of Mira Mills, Anna Cavanagh, Julia Kaiser, Brianna Bodner, Lucy Powdermaker, Sydney Gruneiro, Abigale Luetjen, Carmella Martone, and Victoria Weirich-Freiberg opened the day with a fourth-place finish in their heat with a mark of 7:28.514 and later placed fifth (7:35.447) in the petite final, which placed above WPI.
