WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University rowing team competed in the 2024 New England Rowing Championships on Saturday morning from Lake Quinsigamond and saw their two boats finish first and second in their finals.

How it Happened

• The Cougars V8 of Apple Gould-Schultz, Margaret Mathews, Lucy Powdermaker, Danielle Chace, Anna Tinklenberg, Emma McLellan, Gwyn Sonneveldt, Robbie Southall, and Charlotte Leavitt placed fifth in their heat with a time of 7:20.847, just behind Middlebury and ahead of Conn. College and Simmons before finishing second in their final with an improved mark of 7:12.680.
• Clark's 2V8 of Mira Mills, Anna Cavanagh, Julia Kaiser, Brianna Bodner, Abigale Luetjen, Sydney Gruneiro, Jordan Cambre, Carmella Martone, and Victoria Weirich-Freiberg finished fifth in their heat with a mark of 7:33.995 and later won the third final with an improved time of 7:29.112 over Vermont, Conn. College, Mount Holyoke, and Middlebury.

Clark will close out the season when they compete at the 2024 National Invitational Rowing Championship from Lake Quinsigamond beginning at 8:00 a.m.
