WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University softball team (9-9) continued their six-game homestand when they welcomed Fitchburg State (3-18) on Tuesday and cruised to a pair of victories over the Falcons from O'Brien Field.
Game One: Clark 12, Fitchburg State 1 (F/5)
- Junior Brooke Buzzeo retired the side in order in the top of the first as junior Madison Dillon roped a three-RBI double that plated junior Felicia Salvati, sophomore Megan Dube, and first-year Avery Della Piana to take a 3-0 lead.
- After Buzzeo tossed another scoreless inning before first-year Avery Dillon, Della Piana, Salvati, and Madison Dillon each recorded RBI's in the bottom of the inning to push the advantage to 7-0.
- The Falcons scored a run in the top of the third and in the bottom of the inning, Avery Dillon and graduate student Rebecca Mauro each drove in runs as Clark led 9-1.
- In the bottom of the fourth, junior Caitriona Andre scored off an RBI from Avery Dillon and Della Piana drove in a pair of runs as Clark tallied a 12-1 victory.
Game Two: Clark 8, Fitchburg State 0 (F/5)
- Dube took the bump for Clark in game two and retired the side in order in the first before the Cougars plated five runs in the bottom of the first as Dube helped her own cause on the bump with two RBI's, Salvati drove in a run, and sophomore Alexis Taudel hit a two-run shot to left field.
- After a scoreless inning from Dube, Clark added three more runs when Dube belted a three-run homer to left field to push the Cougars lead to 8-0.
- Dube recorded another scoreless frame in the third before first-year Gricelda Castro drew a walk and stole second, but was left on base.
- Dube closed out the game with two more scoreless innings and recorded another single at the dish in the fourth as Clark recorded an 8-0 victory.

The Cougars will close out their homestand with a NEWMAC doubleheader against Coast Guard on Friday afternoon beginning at 3:00 p.m.
