Men's Swimming and Diving Places Seventh at 2026 NEWMAC Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Clark men's swimming and diving team competed at the 2026 NEWMAC Championships and finished in seventh place with 219 points over four days from Zesiger Pool on the campus of MIT.

Thursday

In the 800-yard medley relay A Final, Samuel Bier, Nick Cordell, Max Klein, and Michael Villalba placed seventh with a time of 7:48.27.

Friday

In the 200-yard freestyle relay A Final, Bradyn Potter, Morgan Murray, Villalba, and Cordell finished seventh with a mark of 1:34.01.
In the B Final, Declan Hanscom, Joseph Genovesi, Owen Powers, and Gabriel Graphia clocked a time of 1:39.90.
Bier (5:02.90), Cordell (5:11.31), Villalba (5:19.84), Klein (5:25.49), and Daniel Neau (5:48.93) swam in the 500-yard freestyle.
Murray (2:03.66), Bayne (2:12.69), and Powers (2:22.69) competed in the 200-yard individual medley.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Potter (23.32), Genovesi (24.01), Hanscom (25.23), and Graphia (26.05) all competed.
Bier, Murray, Theodore Bayne, and Potter placed sixth in the 400-yard medley relay after recording a 3:48.51 time.
Klein, Powers, Hanscom, and Graphia registered a mark of 4:16.61 in the 400-yard medley relay.

Saturday

In the 400-yard individual medley Neau reached the B final and clocked a time of 5:29.83.
Potter (58.36), Hanscom (1:00.39), and Powers (1:02.96) swam in the 100-yard butterfly.
Cordell (1:53.52), Villalba (1:55.91), and Klein (1:58) competed in the 200-yard freestyle.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Murray (1:00.49) and Bayne (1:04.41) swam.
Clark's A 200-yard medley relay squad of Bier, Bayne, Potter, and Murray clocked a 1:44.17.
The B 200-yard medley relay team of Villalba, Klein, Neau, and Graphia posted a 1:56.46 time.

Sunday

In the 1650-yard freestyle event, Bier clocked a time of 17:33.71.
Bier (2:05.74) and Klein (2:17.62) also competed in the 200-yard backstroke.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Potter (51.06), Villalba (51.47), Cordell (52.37), Hanscom (54.93), Graphia (55.37), and Genovesi (55.69) all swam.
Murray (2:13.87) and Bayne (2:21.53) both competed in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Powers (2:24.19) and Neau (2:46.45) swam in the 200-yard butterfly.
In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Murray, Villalba, Cordell, and Potter finished seventh with a time of 3:26.69.
Hanscom, Neau, Powers, and Graphia clocked a mark of 3:49.95 in the 400-yard freestyle relay final.
