Women's Swimming and Diving Finishes Ninth at 2026 NEWMAC Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Clark women's swimming and diving team competed at the 2026 NEWMAC Championships and registered a ninth-place finish with 223 points from Zesiger Pool on the campus of MIT.

Clark's 400-yard medley relay squad of Lina Dawson, Olivia Whitney, Abby Seguin, and Wynne Collins (4:02.43), Seguin in the 100-yard butterfly (56.75), and Whitney in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.94) all broke program records over the weekend.

Thursday Friday
  • Dawson, Whitney, Seguin, and Collins broke the school record in the 400-yard medley relay with a mark of 4:02.43, which placed sixth overall.
  • Dawson (5:36.86), Samson (5:43.45), and Sutton (6:31.79) competed in the 500-yard freestyle.
  • In the 200-yard individual medley, Joyal (2:21.99) and Scott (2:28.67) swam.
  • Davidson (25.62), Collins (25.67), and Cece McPhail (32.39) swam in the 50-yard freestyle.
  • In the 200-yard freestyle relay A Final, Collins, Seguin, Whitney, and Davidson placed eighth with a time of 1:42.41.
  • Dawson, Scott, Sweetman, and Ivy Joyal competed in the B Final and registered a mark of 1:48.33.
  • In the 400-yard medley relay B Final, Samson, Sweetman, Joyal, and Davidson recorded a time of 4:28.55.
Saturday
  • Seguin finished third in the 100-yard butterfly prelims with a mark of 57.08 and later finished fifth with a mark of 56.75, which broke the school record.
  • Whitney reached the 100-yard breaststroke A final after tallying a time of 1:07.94, which broke the program record and placed eighth in the final with a mark of 1:08.67.
  • Dawson (1:01.55) earned a spot in the 100-yard backstroke B final and clocked a 1:02.15 in the final.
  • In the 400-yard individual medley, Samson (5:12.66) and Sweetman (5:31.23) swam in the preliminaries.
  • Joyal (1:03.77) and Sutton (1:13.14) also swam in the 100-yard butterfly event.
  • In the 200-yard freestyle prelims, Collins clocked a time of 2:02.70.
  • Scott (1:13.16), Sweetman (1:15.54), and Davidson (1:16.44) swam in the 100-yard breaststroke.
  • Joyal (1:06.23), Sutton (1:12.82), and McPhail (1:23.91) competed in the 100-yard backstroke.
  • Clark's A Final team of Dawson, Whitney, Seguin, and Davidson placed eighth in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:53.75.
  • In the B Final, Samson, Scott, Joyal, and Sweetman (2:14.22) competed.
Sunday
  • Seguin finished 11th overall with a mark of 2:10.06 in the 200-yard butterfly.
  • Dawson placed in the top 20 in the 200-yard backstroke at 18th with a time of 2:16.93, while Samson (2:21.38) also competed.
  • In the 200-yard breaststroke, Whitney placed 19th overall with a mark of 2:37.77, while Scott (2:39.28) and Sweetman (2:43.21) also swam.
  • Collins (55.80) and McPhail (1:13.00) swam in the 100-yard freestyle.
  • In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Collins, Samson, Davidson, and Joyal clocked a time of 3:47.40 to place ninth.
