Bryan Costello begins his fourth year as the Director of Athletic Communications at Clark in the Fall of 2024. In Costello's role as Director of Athletic Communications, he will publicize and promote Clark's 17 varsity sports, maintain the athletic website, keep records and stats, oversee all day-to-day operations within the athletic communications office, and assist in marketing initiatives.
Costello, a native of Methuen, Mass., arrives to Worcester after serving as an athletic communications graduate assistant at Division I Fairleigh Dickinson University for the past two years. In his time on the Hackensack, Costello was the primary contact for the women's basketball, women's soccer, softball, men's/women's track and field, men's/women's cross country, and men's/women's tennis teams.
In his role, Costello promoted Knights varsity programs, maintained the FDU website and social media pages, updated record books, created gameday programs, wrote press releases, nominated student-athletes for players of the week, was a PA announcer at sporting events, and other duties as assigned. He also started a segment known as "Feature Friday" where he would write stories about FDU student-athletes that highlighted them both on and off the field.
Prior to his two years at FDU, Costello spent a year at Tufts University as an athletic communications intern. In his time with the Jumbos, he assisted in promoting Tufts' 28 sports. Costello wrote press releases, updated player bios, created highlight videos, gameday programs, conducted post-game interviews, and compiled the information for "This Week in Tufts Athletics." He also created a template for Tufts that showed the Jumbos all-time record against various opponents across 14 different varsity sports.
He is no stranger to the NEWMAC as he began his career at Babson College. Costello was an intern in the athletic communications department in the Spring of 2018. At Babson, Costello wrote feature stories, game recaps, posted Instagram stories, created gameday programs, logged statistics, and helped update record books.
Costello graduated from FDU School of Sports Management with a Master's Degree in Sports Administration in 2021. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management from Lasell College in 2018. At Lasell, he played club rugby, was a resident assistant for three years, and hosted his own sports radio show for four years.
