Worcester, Worcester, Mass. - Senior Kerri
Moy (Newton, Mass.) had the first two-goal game of her
career to spark the Clark University women's soccer team to a 3-1
non-conference win over visiting Elms College on Saturday afternoon
on the Granger Soccer Field.
The three goals for the Cougars are most goals scored by the team
since a 3-0 win over Coast Guard back on October 27, 2007.
The win evens Clark's record at 2-2, while the Blazers fall to 0-3
on the season under first-year head coach Kevin Meek.
Sophomore Erin
Peete (Clinton, Mass.) got the Cougars on the board in
the 14th minute when she teamed up with junior Megan
O'Rourke (Somerset, Mass.) to give Clark an early 1-0
lead.
Moy then gave the Cougars a commanding 2-0 lead just 12 minutes
later when she banged home her second career goal in the 26th
minute. She notched her second goal of the contest, upping the
Clark advantage to 3-0 at 53:39.
Elms finally got on the board in the 73rd minute when Stephanie
Magalhaes (Granby, Mass.) beat Clark backup netminder Kelly
Barile (Lynn, Mass.)
The Cougars controlled play for much of the match, recording 18
shots compared to just two for the Blazers.
Clark returns to action on Tuesday when they host Lasell beginning
at 6:30, while Elms will look to break into the win column with a
Tuesday matchup with Westfield State.
