New London, Conn. - Junior Allison
Kennelly (Irvington, N.Y.) scored two goals and added
an assist, leading Clark to a 5-0 win over Coast Guard in the New
England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener for
both teams.
Kennelly scored in the fourth minute with senior Charlotte
Bowman (Peterborough, N.H.) assisting and again in the
50th minute to give her a team-leading three goals this season.
Junior Laura
Hedden (East Greenbush, N.Y.) recorded a goal and an
assist for the victors.
Sophomore Molly
Meehan (Scotch Plains, N.J.) scored in the 79th minute
before Marie
Sirois (Saco, Maine) added the final goal of the game
in the 80th minute for Clark (4-4, 1-0).
Clark outshot Coast Guard 25-4. Senior Joanna
Clark made two saves to record the shutout in goal for
the Cougars.
Sophomore Mary Mills made 16 saves while classmate Erin Nolan
recorded a pair of saves in goal over the final ten minutes for the
Bears.
The shutout for Clark is the 14th of her career.
