Box Score Worcester, Mass. – MIT junior Alissa
Lussiez (Livonia, Mich.) scored the game's lone goal in the
24 th minute and the visiting Engineers topped host Clark
University in NEWMAC women's soccer on Saturday afternoon at
the Granger Soccer Complex.
The win for MIT improves their record to 5-1, including a 1-0
ledger in conference play while the Cougars drop their second
straight and slip to 3-3, 0-1 in NEWMAC play.
Lussiez was set up by freshman Rachel Dias Carlson (Albany,
N.Y.), who now has an assist in two of the Engineers last three
games.
The shutout win for MIT is their third straight following their
only loss of the season – a 2-1 defeat to Worcester
State.
Lussiez, meanwhile, has continued her hot play, having scored a
goal in three straight games.
MIT held a 12-9 edge in shots and sophomore Megan Wright made
the Lussiez tally stand by turning back four Clark shots.
Cougar netminder Joanna Clark (Windham, Maine)
made six stops for Clark, who returns to the field on Wednesday
when they visit Keene State. MIT hosts Lesley University on Tuesday
beginning at 4:00 p.m.
