Box Score Worcester, Mass. – Six different players
scored for Clark and the Cougars rebounded from a loss on Saturday
with a dominating 10-0 win over visiting Anna Maria on Tuesday
evening in non-league field hockey action on Granger Field.
The ten goals by Clark is one shy of the school record set in
2007 against Regis College and the seven assists handed out by the
team ties a school mark.
Mel Melkonian (Worcester, Mass.) paced the
Clark offensive barrage with three goals and a pair of helpers,
while freshman Talia Fish (Philadelphia, Pa.)
continued her hot play with three goals of her own.
Sophomore Madeleine Lutts (Salem, Mass.) had a
goal and a career-high three assists, while Katherine Rowe (Fort Myer, Va.) added a goal and an assist.
Meghan Lennon (Charlton, Mass.) and freshman
Kellee Kosiorek (Enfield, N.H.) added markers as
well.
Clark jumped out to 3-0 lead less than ten minutes into the game
before the Cougars settled for a 5-0 halftime edge.
Things were pretty much the same in the second half as Clark
again registered five goals and outshot the AMCATS 19-4.
The Scarlet and White held huge advantages in overall shots
(39-4) and penalty corners (19-7) and Kate McGrath
(Wilmington, Mass.) needed to only make three saves to collect the
first shutout of her career.
The Anna Maria two-headed monster of Allysa Boykin (Worcester,
Mass.) and Jenna Glass (Plymouth, Mass.) made 11 stops.
Clark is off for a week until they host NEWMAC rival Babson
beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Anna Maria hosts the University of
New England o Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
