The 'Pistol' Strikes Again In 2-1 Thriller

Box Score

Chicopee, Mass. – Clark junior Erin Peete (Clinton, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal in the 107 th minute, lifting the Cougars to a dramatic 2-1 win over host Elms College on Sunday morning on Leary Field.

Peete scored both goals for Clark, marking the first time in her career in which she has scored multiple goals. It is also the second time she has netted a second overtime game-winner, following her goal in the 102nd minute against Lasell College last September.

The Cougars got on the board first when she took a feed from freshman Jen O'Rourke (Somerset, Mass.) and beat Blazer keeper Kelly Callahan at the 10:13 mark.

Clark looked poised to collect the shutout victory but Jen Killion found the top right corner of the net from 16 yards out in the 89th minute to even the score.

Peete had the answer for the Cougars late in the second overtime following a pass from Jenna Zarou (Garden City, N.Y.).

Clark outshot the Blazers 34-13 and might have put the game away much earlier if it had not been for the 18 save effort from Callahan.

In turn, Cougar netminder Joanna Clark (Windham, Maine) made six saves for Clark, who improves to 2-1 on the season in advance of their next match – Saturday versus Worcester State.
