New London, Conn. - Freshman Emily Reilly (Marlboro, Mass.) led all scorers with 25 points and visiting Clark clinched a spot in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) tournament with a convincing 82-37 win over Coast Guard in the regular season finale for both teams on Saturday.

The Cougars snapped a four-game losing streak and improved to 9-16 overall and 8-10 in the conference while the Bears finish at 3-21 overall and 1-17 in the NEWMAC.

Clark, which will be seeded sixth in the upcoming tournament, will visit Smith on Wednesday with a tipoff time slated for 7:00 p.m.

The Cougars and the Pioneers split the season series with each team winning on the others home court.

In today's contest, Clark took charge right from the start racing out to a 16-4 lead with 9:19 left in the first half before settling for a 33-19 lead at the break.

The Scarlet and White maintained that 14-point lead with a 42-28 advantage with 14:53 left when they used a 19-2 run and scored 36 of the next 40 points to secure the win and the accompanying postseason berth.

The 82 points scored by the Cougars are the most points they have scored since an 82-74 overtime win over Mount Holyoke in the 2008-09 season.

Clark shot a sizzling 48 percent from the floor (31-for-65), while controlling the glass (50-27) and turning 22 Coast Guard turnovers into 30 points.

In addition to Reilly's fifth game of 20 points or more this season, Kate Minister (Manchester, England) added 13 points and six rebounds, while freshman Lily Colley (Wells, Maine) had her second straight strong performance with 12 points off the bench. Freshman Megan Grondin (Cumberland, Maine) chipped in with eight points and a game-high eight rebounds.
