Connecticut College raced out to a 12-3 lead in the first set before Clark mounted a comeback, cutting the lead down to 16-8. Undeterred, the visitors scored six of the next nine points to take the set.

The second set saw much more of the same with Connecticut College jumping out to early leads of 7-0 and 12-4. Clark battled back, trimming the score down to 20-10, but the Camels went on a 7-2 run to close out the set.

In the final set, Connecticut College again took the lead and never looked back, posting advantages of 4-1 and 10-5 before Clark tightened the gap at 16-10. The Cougars got as close as 22-14 as the set wound down, but the Camels prevailed with a 25-16 decision.

Clark was paced by Mel Conde (Union City, Calif.), who had a team best seven kills, while Rachel Spera (North Hollywood, Calif.) handed out 16 assists and Katie Freaney (Old Lyme, Conn.) chipped in with 14 digs.

The Camels will return to action on Friday with a NESCAC contest against at Trinity, while the Cougars are off until Tuesday when they host the region's top team in Wellesley College.
