Paxton, Mass. - Erika Roth (Saco, Maine) led a Clark University women's cross country team that turned in a fourth place finish at the Worcester City Championships on Saturday morning at Moore State Park.
WPI's Vicki Hewey first place finish helped the Crimson & Grey clinch five of the top eight spots and capture their eighth overall title – including their fifth straight. Hewey saved her best performance at City Meet for last with a four-peat and a career-best time of 19:57 on the 5k course.
Roth finished the 5K layout in 20:37 good for sixth place, while Zoe Greenberg (Arlington, Mass.) was the second Cougar to cross the line in 16th place (21:41).
Sophomore Abby Grieco (Hardyston, N.J.) completed the course in 22:15, earning a 23rd place finish, while Kayla Reeves (Shirley, Mass.) was 29th (22:46).
Clark will return to action on October 6 when they take part in the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State.
