Northampton, Mass. – Senior Erika Roth (Saco, Maine) turned in a 13th place finish – her best-ever in four all-time appearances – helping the Clark University women's cross country team to a seventh-place finish among 14 teams at the Smith College Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Roth, who was 19th last season at the same event, shaved nearly 25 seconds off of her time for 2011, completing the 5K course in 20:48.
She was followed by Zoe Greenberg (Arlington, Mass.) in 34 th place in a time of 21:52, while Abby Grieco (Hardyston, N.J.) was the third Cougar to cross the finish line, wrapping up the course in 22:32.
Kayla Reeves (Shirley, Mass.) and Alex Summers (Woodbridge, Conn.) were the final two scoring runners for Clark, with Reeves registering a 49th place finish (23:16) and summers right on her tail in 51st place (23:31).
The Cougars will have next Saturday off in preparation for the Worcester City Championships on Saturday, September 22.
