Box Score New London, Conn.- Playing in their second match against a team ranked in the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) top ten in the last 24 hours, visiting Clark University suffered a 3-0 setback to Connecticut College at Luce Field House Wednesday night.
The Camels, ranked #9 in New England, improve their record to 7-6 and are a perfect 6-0 on their home court, while the Cougars slip to 7-10 with the loss.
The set scores were 25-23, 25-12 and 25-16 in favor of the hosts.
Clark rookie right side hitter Courtney Pharr (Seattle, Wash.) buried six kills and added nine digs for the visitors.
Shannon Glass-Smythe (Albuquerque, N.M.) chipped in with six kills and six digs for the Cougars, while Rachel Spera (North Hollywood, Calif.) dished out 18 assists.
Chloe Ainley (San Jose, Calif.) exploded with 13 kills, 13 digs and three blocks, registering a .462 hitting percentage en route to the double-double. Sophomore outside hitter Caroline Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) chipped in with 12 kills and nine digs for the winning side
The difficult schedule for the Cougars continues next Tuesday when they host 13-1 Springfield College – the region's second-ranked team.
