Box Score Paxton, Mass. – Talia Fish (Philadelphia, Pa.) scored two goals and visiting Clark University rebounded from a league loss on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Worcester-area rival Anna Maria on Tuesday afternoon on AMCAT Field.
The win for the Cougars keeps their overall record above .500 at 4-3, while the AMCATS see their five game winning streak come to an end and they now sit at 6-4.
Clark tipped the scoreboard first as sophomore Zoe LaFrance-Armstrong (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) found Fish in front of the net with a nice tic-tac-toe pass off a penalty corner and a 1-0 lead heading into intermission.
Anna Maria would have an opportunity to tie the game early in the second half when Clark was whistled for trapping the ball and Anna Mara was awarded a penalty stroke. However, AMC's Nichole Lowe couldn't convert from seven yards out and Clark remained in the lead.
Clark would double the lead when Kelly Hart (Oak Park, Ill.) scored off a pass from Kiah Murphy (Westport, Mass.) in the 45th minute.
Fish tacked on an insurance goal for the Cougars in the 56th minute.
Anna Maria would break up the shut out with twenty minutes remaining in the second stanza. With a penalty corner, Kylie Dalbec delivered a pass on the stick of Kayla Garczynski to make it a 3-1 game.
Clark's netminder Christine Tinsman (Prairie Village, Kan.) made a career-high 14 saves for the win, while Mary Kate Breen posted seven saves in the loss.
The Cougars continue their busy week when they visit Western New England on Thursday.
