Westfield, Mass. – The Clark University women's cross country team had several individuals post personal bests and the Cougars finished 21st at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State at Stanley State Park on Saturday morning.
Freshman Kristen Glennie (Standish, Maine) was again the Scarlet and White's top performer, completing the 5K race in 33rd place in a time of 19:29. Her performance seems even more impressive when you consider the field consisted of 424 runners from all over New England.
Classmate Autumn Perez shaved nearly two minutes off of her personal best time, crossing the finish line in 21:09.
They were followed by Saraneh Fitzgerald (Norfolk, Mass.) in 122nd place (21:32), Erin Glennie (Standish, Maine) in 167th place (22:18) and Lauren Dube (Windsor, Conn.), who rounded out the scoring five for the Cougars with a time of 22:21.
Clark will now have a week off before returning to the race course at the Plansky Invitational hosted by Williams College on October 25.
