Worcester, Mass. – MIT scored three goals in a four-minute span and the visiting Engineers posted an impressive 4-0 win over Clark University in New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) field hockey action on Saturday afternoon at a rainy, dreary Granger Turf Field.

The win for MIT pushes its record to 9-1 overall and they remain undefeated in league play with a 4-0 conference ledger. The Cougars, meanwhile, have now dropped three straight games to slip to 6-6 overall and 0-4 in league games.

With time winding down in the first half and the game still scoreless, Caitlin Mackey (San Diego, Calif.) scored an unassisted marker to give the Engineers a 1-0 lead at 27:56.

A little more than two minutes later, Molly McNamara (Auburn, Mass.) notched her third goal of the year off of a feed from Keeley Erhardt (Ann Arbor, Mich.).

McNamara was at it again less than 30 seconds after her first goal when Emily Penn (Elkridge, Md.) set her up for the third goal of the game at 30:39.

The game stayed that way until later in the second half when Chiara Waingarten (Aventura, Fla.) assisted on Morgan O'Brien's (Crofton, Md.) second score of the season at 63:25.

Both teams used two goalies, with the Cougars' Christine Tinsman (Prairie Village, Kan.) making three first half saves before giving way to Olivia Landry (Vestal, N.Y.).

MIT used Paige Kennedy (Eastchester, N.Y.) in the first 35 minutes and she made the lone save for the Engineers and she was relieved by Evie Kyritsis (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) for the second half.

Kelly Hart (Oak Park, Ill.) and Lauren Mackey (Dublin, N.H.) each led the way offensively for the Scarlet and White with two shots each.

Clark returns to action on Tuesday with a city matchup against Worcester State, while MIT is off until next Saturday when they host Smith.
